how do I get internet in different rooms without using wireless?

in my house we already have wireless internet and i use that with my laptop but i do alot on my laptop like downloading and i know for a fact that wired internet is faster than wireless so how do i get wired internet in my room to connect to my laptop? I dont have a phone jack and the closest one is down the hall, what is the easiest way to get wired internet without using the wireless?

You'll have to buy a spool of ethernet cable and run the ethernet cable throughout your home where you need it. You'll probably need a crimper as well to put the ethernet connectors on the ends. If you want it to look nice, you'll have to cut holes in the walls and run the cable through them.

plugging into a phone jack will only get you dial up internet. You have to plug in with an ethernet cord if you wanna use broadband which most houses aren't equipped with those jacks you have to get an alternate adapter before you can plug it into the wall. Sorry but you're stuck with your "slow" wireless.

I dont know what kind of wireless you have but I have att and all I do is download games onto my laptop and the internet on here is faster than my desktop is. sorry
