driving me nuts!? He whines and cry's about everything and today it's been worse. I don't think he is feeling that good today, but is there anything I can do to stop it? I'll try anything!
If he's feeling sick, then there's nothing you really can do. If he's teething too. You can try ignoring it, but I've known grown men who whine when they feel ill.
One of the few things I know that works is teaching different voices. "Let's use our whiner voices..." "let's use our inside" "let's use our happy" "LETS USE OUR OUTSIDE VOICES" etc. Then, when they start whining, you say "Oh, want to use whiny voices?" and whine. Then say something like "remember to use your happy voice when asking for something."
Well, with my experience with my 2 year old, whenever he throws a fit, i TRY to ignore him the best i can. I just don't acknowledge him and he will eventually stop. I think he just wants attention mostly. But sometimes you can't ignore them, so try to reward him with something, like a new toy or a snack or a trip to the park. Putting them in time-out doesn't really work on my son anyway.
