How do I get my leopard gecko to eat out of a dish?

I bought a leopard gecko about a month ago, and I've been feeding him crickets with the occasional mealworms. Now I'm tired of the stupid crickets chirping, and would like to completely switch him to mealworms.
How do I get him to realize that the mealworms are in the dish?
(The dish is fairly high, about an inch, but then goes deep in the middle. But I know he can reach it because I've seen him drinking water in the same dish.

Lure it to the dish with promises of candy and videogames, then when he comes closer he grabbed me and threw me in the van and raped me repeatedly........
 
you said he drinks water from that dish. buy a shallow different dish for food. then make a mealworm trail to the dish in a corner.
