I HAD windows 7, got rid of it for Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal and now i miss all the games I could play, I have tried playing games but every one I download does not work even the ones that others say work for them, So I want to get rid of Ubuntu, the only problem is that my windows 7 installation disk wont boot( I have tried everything possible with the boot menu so please don't tell me to change anything with my booting) I have also tried the disk on other computers and It works on them. I have tried Windows Vista and XP and neither work either. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to either make the windows 7 disk work or how to format my computer completely?(I THINK that if I reformat my entire computer to the point where it has no OS then I can boot the disk, but not sure)

If you install PLoP boot manager, which can be installed from either Linux or Windows, it takes over your master boot file and can boot ANY OS from ANY device on your computer. This even adds USB booting support for systems that otherwise wouldn't allow it.

possibly problem with your cd/dvd drive?

note: you coulda just set it up as dual-boot with both Win7 & Ubuntu

Edit: "(I THINK that if I reformat my entire computer to the point where it has no OS then I can boot the disk, but not sure)"

that doesn't matter - you should be able to boot into a bootable disk no matter if there's an OS present on the hard drive or not
