how do i know if my cockatiels are gay or a mating pair?

i bought 2 cockatiels on sat and was told that they both were male but one of the birds(gray bird) keeps mounting the other. and the one on who gets mounted (white bird) is getting it's blood feathers broken off. the lady i bought them from has over 100 birds so i thought she knew enough to sell me two males not a male and a female....so how do i tell and if it is a female how old does she need to be to lay eggs? also the white bird lets the gray bird mount it so is that normal? they have been in the same cage and get along and scream for each other when i take one out of the cage. thank you for any help.
 
Ok the only way to tell the difference in the male female gender is the males have BRIGHT orange cheeks. The femals have a very dull colour on their cheeks. Good luck :)
