how do i know my torrent movie is in avi format?

ive just started downloading torrents. how do i know if my movie is avi format if the movie says the title and dvdrip and so on? i have a torrent that is in nero and it says its transcoding...but im not sure if it needs to be converted b4 i burn it. will nero burn a movie that isnt avi? thanks alot

i tried this and gave up ! cound'nt burn anything in movie format ! sorry can't help you
