How do I listen to my iPod via PC?

I want to be able to listen to my iPod via PC. Not the way iTunes is like, I want to have the iPod as the controller, and my Laptop as the sound output only. Are there programs for this?
I know PodPlayer isn't like this, so don't suggest that.
