I want to add ringtones to my Motorola cell phone using Motorola Phone Tools. However it says it cannot detect my phone. It has bluetooth. What do I need to do to get motorola phone tools to recognize my phone. On setup it asks how will my phone connect via USB/or Bluetooth.Which box should I check. Please help I'm totally lost on what to do next.

If you have an old razr, then it probably won't work. Razrs in my experience have a bluetooth problem; they don't seem to be able to transfer data for phone to phone or phone to computer. If it isn't the razr, make sure the bluetooth for your phone is on and detectable (visiblity on). Check the bluetooth box unless you have the cable. Then it should work. Also you might need a bluetooth adapter for your computer if you don't already have one or have it integrated into your computer, most computer don't have bluetooth and require an adapter(around $5). That is all i can think of. Hope it helps.

if your pc doesn't have a bluetooth, you can either get a bluetooth dongle (it's small like a usb thumbdrive) or connect your phone using usb.

for now, i think you are better off connecting via USB. i assume your phone comes with a USB cable. i think it should. connect it first before you do your setup.

i have one of these

but there is a device that you can plug into your usb and run a program. a bluetooth adapter

i have one and it works well, i used it to transfer pictures and stuff. its only $20
