How do I open a torrent?

I have some software I'd like to get, but they're .torrent files. I've never gotten a good explanation, and Vuze never works for me.

Help?

You need a torrent client, like BitTorrent or uTorrent. Once you have the program installed, simply double click the file and it will start downloading.
 
Well, then you are doing it wrong. Vuze opens them, Utorrent opens them. Things do need set up to work properly as well.
 
download uTorrent (it's free), and open the .torrent file with it, after it downloads you will see the files normally in a folder named "Downloads" iin "My Documents" (uTorrent automatically creates this) and that's it, the files won't be .torrent anymore
 
Well, if you have limewire, you can use that in place of a torrent downloader thing. I only use limewire. havent found one i cannot open,
