How do I password protect my computer so no one else can access my internet?

i'm getting internet access through comcast, but i think the apartments surrounding mine are using my internet because my connection is bad/slow. most of my neighbors have their internet password-protected; how can i password-protect mine? thank you!
 
Are you using a wireless router if so which one.
If so like the poster above type in your IP address. Each company's router will have a different interface. Look around and look for a category for wireless and there should be an option to set a password.
 
they cannot unless you are using a wireless router.

but if you are using a wireless router, u have to type in your ip address where you would type a regular adress ie www.yahoo.com.

normal ip address's are... 192.168.1.1

type that in and look a place to password protect your wireless router.
