How do I prevent my PS3 60GB from getting blueray issues etc.?

I've heard that the 60GB model is really faulty and they all mess up eventually. Mine messed up and had it replaced from Sony for £145 *ouch!*.

I hope the 60GB replacement had the blueray thing fixed.

I don't want to go through that again and would like to know what to do/ what not to do, so I don't end up killing my PS3.

You should sell your 60 gb on EBAY and buy a 80 gb or 160 gb PS3.

They are built stronger than the 60 gb.
