How do I prevent the DivX folder from popping up every time I start my computer?

My startup folder is empty.

I also tried the registry at hkey_local_machine/software/microsoft/windows/current_version_run but I didn't see anything there that would make the divx folder launch at startup.

Any ideas?

click "start" at the botton left of your screen...

click "run" from the drop up menu

type "msconfig" click "ok"

goto "start up" tab

in this list you can select the programs you want to lunch on stat up. Just uncheck the ones you don't want to lunch at start up...

Hope this helps...

Also make sure your virus program is up to date and run it...

Try tweaking your msconfig and see if it's in there as a service or in the start-up somewhere....
cmd ==> msconfig

I do this all the time...
Download {{ http://www.ccleaner.com/ }}
Wen its there click tools,, go to the start up menu ,,find out witch program you don't want to start automatically and click it,,,That will solve you problem,,,,It will also clean out your computers garbage and a few registry problems you might have.

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! :)
