How do I put a movie on my computer from DVD?

I want to put the DVD Disc/Blu-Ray into my computer and then store it onto there like a digital copy.
I tried looking on the Internet but couldn't find anything.
So how can I do this?
For example I have the Fast Five movie on disc and I want to put it onto my computer so I can watch it on my iPhone instead of buying another copy on iTunes.

I say, once a dvd is purchased, it AND the content on it belong to whoever bought it. Screw the studios.
