How Do I Remove 'Lock' that Suddenly Appeared on DVD?

My 3-year-old grandson loves the DVD 'Shark Tale'. He has watched it more times than I can count. Last time I put it in the DVD player, it suddenly says it has a lock on it. I didn't put it there (unless I accidentally pushed a wrong button). He can't reach it. How do I remove it?
