I am trying to do an in-place upgrade to Vista so I don't wipe out everything, just repair corrupt Vista files. The 2 disks that came with the laptop don't seem to have any option but to wipe everything out.
Does discs that come with it are for reinstalling the whole operating system from scratch. The are not for upgrading. I would rather advice your to backup your files to an external media then use the discs to reinstall vista.You can also create a separate partition by shrinking your C partition.You can then move the data to the new partition you created and then reinstall Vista on C while the data is safe on another partition.
