How do I rip a DVD in decent quality?

I'm using Magic DVD Ripper. I downloaded a south park episode from xbox live last night and was stunned by the quality for something that only took up 200mb. My rips take the same amount of space but it don't come close to the quality, what settings should I use. (has to be AVI)

Hi, I've been using dvdfab to rip my plenty of dvds for 3 years which come in handy and never failed me! It supports ripping dvd movies to avi/mp4/WMV/H.264/mkv,etc.

A simple video tutorial beats thousands of words!
