How Do I Save PowerPoint When It's Not Responding?

This work is incredibly vital, and took hours of work. It needs to be complete by tomorrow, and when I clicked save, PowerPoint went into that always annoying, "Not Responding) phase.

PLEASE HELP ME! I cannot and will not do this over again.
