How do I sign up to become a Red Kettle bell ringer for the Salvation Army?

Can I sign up at my local thrift store? Or is there a way I can sign up through phone/online?
And I just turned 18, is that too young? I've always wanted to volunteer as a kid but figured it would be best to wait until I wasn't a minor.
