How do i speed up my download speed for fire fox or other internet explorer?

My broadband speed is about 1000kbps or higher, but when ever i wan to download something, its speed goes down to 20k/s or less than that! I did a internet download speed check and it says i have 1095kbps(Link:http://www.ip-adress.com/speedtest/). So why every time my download speed is low? What can i do to speed it up?
My internet is not wireless!
 
Hi you can follow the below steps to increase your internet download speed.

1)Use fast cable connection
2)Use opera browser it loads very fast
3)You can try to close unwanted applications

4)Virus,malwares is also another important thing it will make a slow connection.
So use a good antivirus software to remove all virus and malwares .
Finally go to this site Scanmyspeed.com then check your internet speed,it will definitely works very fast
