How do I transfer files onto my new mobile sony Ericsson x10 mini pro?

I have just got this phone and normally used to the Nokias but trying this one out. Just a bit baffled on how to transfer files from my PC onto the phone. I have got the charger cable and it has a USB on so put that into a spare USB port on PC and it gets detected as removable storage but cannot see it in "My computer" but see it on device manager. So how can i put my music and media onto phone if it is not shown in my computer be to copy and paste into it. don't like using bluetooth and keep getting errors on that side so trying this method.
Any ideas?
 
Ive had the same problem before with my sony ericsson xperia x10 mini pro it would not let me transfer any of my files so i had to change phones in the end...

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 telephone is one such device. It is capable of storing and playing back music files, once these files are transferred from a computer system to the phone.

Instructions


1.
Insert the MicroSD media card into the MicroSD media reader. Plug the media reader into a free USB port on the computer; the computer will recognize the media reader as a removable disk drive. Open Windows Explorer, and double-click the removable disk drive icon.

2.
Copy the music files to the removable disk drive. Unplug the media reader from the computer USB port. Remove the MicroSD media card from the media reader.

3.
Plug the MicroSD media card into the MicroSD slot on the Xperia X10 phone.
