How do I tune the settings on my amp for better sound?

I just got a 2000 watt amp (1000 watt at 4 ohms) and i have a 1000 watt subwoofer (4 ohms) and anyways I set everything up and there are some screws on the back of the amp and I dont know what to do with them. They are "Subsonic Filter" "Bass Boost" "Input Level" and "Low Pass Filter" . I noticed when I play music with fast bass, like techno music, the bass sounds out of sync with the song, like there is a delay before the subwoofer actually booms. Anyone know why this is happening? I have thick 4 gauge wire for my power and ground and my speaker wire to the amp from the sub is about 2 feet long. I thought I had done everything right but i still have this delay if the bass is going to fast and it doesnt sound good!

Anyways, can someone tell me what to do with the settings and how to get rid of the bass delay on fast music, I have 1 subwoofer connected to my 2000 watt amplifier and thats it.
The subwoofer is a sony Xplod 12 inch 1000 watt and the amplifier is a 2000 watt "bass inferno" with 2 25 amp fuses on it if this helps
