How do I undo iOS 4 and go back to the original iOS the iPod Touch 2G came with?

I accidentally downloaded iOS 4 last night and it erased everything. Whenever I try to restore it restores to the same home screen with Game Center. I want to go back to the original firmware or OS it came with. Is it possible? Everytime I restore, it restores to an old iPhone that used to sync to that computer.

Don't do what that person has said its pointless and doesn't work. It is impossible to downgrade now (go back to original) because apple has stopped signing that firmware-(means ios) so yeah your stuck there and you will have to live with it
