How do I upload my movie trailer to bittorrent?

I downloaded bittorrent to share my new movie trailer with everyone to get word out better. The application pops up and I click Add on top however it won't let me add the mpeg4 video file. I've tried going online and changing it to a windows, avi and webm file, but none of them are still popping up. Is there a particular video file you have to use for bittorrent, not familiar with the site, or am I just doing something wrong. Thanks for the help in advance.

This isn't really how/ what you use bittorrent for. You can't just upload a file to it.
You would have much better luck uploading it to youtube or vimeo anyways. Most people don't know how to download torrents or are actually unable to due to their ISP.
You're also not going to get any new viewers from a torrent. No one will download some trailer they haven't heard of and watch it. On a streaming site though? You might get a lot of views from whoever might come across it.
