How do i use a bittorrent client?

I had vuze and loved it because i could search and download without ever having to open an internet explorer window. Now vuze sucks. I have tried utorrent but cannot figure out how to get what i want to download onto the client. every time i put in a url it says that it is not a valid torrent.

The way people use torrent clients is very simple.

Step 1: Download a torrent file from a website (most popular website Thepiratebay.org)
Step 2: Open that torrent file using uTorrent
Step 3: Download (this will be automatic once you've opened the torrent file with the bittorrent client)

However, if you want to have high speeds I suggest you configure your client settings (youtube has many videos that tell you exactly what to do) and also port forward.

If you don't know what port forwarding is, go to PortForward.com and, again there will be a list of instructions on exactly how to port forward.
