I already plugged it into my CD player (not a portable one) and into my ipod but it wont work. It is a Griffin Auxiliary Audio Cable and it says right on the box and on the website that you can use it with a boombox or CD player:

"Use this handy, high-quality stereo cable to connect your iPod, iPhone or other music player to car stereos, boomboxes, home entertainment systems ... anything that uses a 1/8" (3.5 mm) stereo mini port for headphone or auxiliary audio input." -straight off the website

Hope someone can help!

Well, in one device it has be an OUTPUT (say ipod), on the other device (say Boom box) it has to be an INPUT.
You can't connect two outputs!

After you connect it to the boom box make sure on the boom box you select AUX input (vs CD, casette, radio, etc.)
