How do Lawsuits on Companies Work?

in what ways do you get paid from companies, monopolies, corporations,etc..


is it a percentage of there revenue? etc?


i am not referring to Injuries but more for Actual Settlements like on Companies for big things like CIVIL RIGHTS, LOOPHOLE, COMPANY VIOLATIONS,ETC..

FOR EXAMPLE IF I WAS 'OFFERED' $700 MILLION BY A COMPANY IN 'SETTLEMENT' HOW WOULD I GET PAID? OR WHERE WOULD THAT MONEY COME FROM?
