How do you avoid mingling with the opposite sex?

I'm still working on my way to the path of guidance, but the biggest roadblock for me has been all my male friends. I tend to get a long with men so much more better than women, but I'm trying to bring all that to an end. SO, what do you do to avoid mingling with the opposite sex?
@Ankaboot: I fail to understand your method of preaching, it's really ironic to what you're preaching itself. Grow up.

I'm not sure that it's really a bad thing that you have guy friends, but if you want to change it you need to try really hard to let one woman into your life so that maybe she can become a really good friend, which will take away from your friendships with men.

You could go to a woman's class/club thing like a cake decorating class or knitting class (they have those types of things at Jo Ann fabrics)

I don't see why you would cut out all communications with males. After all, they are your brothers in Islam. Unless you flirt with them that's when you should stop. It's okay to have male companions no matter what the number as long as you respect each other, keep your boundaries and be modest.
