How do you change a T-Mobile Individual Plan to a Family Plan ?

I called T-Mobile up, and they instructed me to do it online, and just click "Add a New Line", but when I do so, I get this message:

"Because of the nature of your T-Mobile account, you are unable to add a line. To make changes, or if you have questions, please call Customer Care at 1-800-T-MOBILE or visit a T-Mobile Retail Store."

Does anyone know why I get that ???

I searched the web and found the T-Mobile website:

https://support.t-mobile.com/plan.html?

In Canada our providers have stores we can go to for service. If there is a T-Mobile store where you are, I suggest going in and see them.

That's usually because your credit only allows for you to have a certain amount of lines on your account. Call customer service and they will tell you how much you are allowed to get on your phone. Maybe they can rerun your credit or use another option.

You have to go to the store to open another line up on an individual account.
