our family member fell ill and was in the ICU, they kept giving us the wrong info saying that she was dead and is never coming back, they then told us to turn the life support machine off 6 times, but something fishy was going on..... now she is perfectly fine and living a normal life, my whole family have been severely traumatised and the bloody NHS keep messing up even with the after care, we want to complain and make them aware of what they have done and hopefully get some answers?? please help

It depends who you wish to complain about. If its the doctor the GMC is your best bet. If not you need to contact the chief executive of the Trust. That way the complaint gets registered in his office, and will monitor the responses as he is now responsible for the complaint. You could also contact the complaints lead of the emergency services to that hospital. However, if you are contacting the chief exec. he will be asking that person to provide a response. Either way, you should get acknowledgement of your complaint within 10 days. A full reply should follow within 3 weeks. To get the best response. Trusts hate bad publicity in the press.
