How do you connect to the internet with a phone using bluetooth and a computer?

I want to download google maps onto my phone but don't want to spend the data rate costs from AT&T. I read somewhere that you could do it, so I wanted to know how to access the internet on my phone through a bluetooth connection to my computer, which has an internet connection.
I have a Sony Ericsson W580i
