How do you convey humour/laughing in a letter?

Whilst i'm sending an informal letter, using 'haha' seems rather informal

Well, if what you're writing is actually funny, then it should speak for itself...

If it is a dry kind of humor that might be hard to tell, then add a smiley face

You can also say " rolling and laughing" or also tumbling around

"Haha,", "Ahah," or "Eheh," usually seem to work well!
