How do you hide carrier name and signal bars on iphone?

I have an unlocked iphone that I just use as an ipod touch, but it always says "No SIM" because I took how the SIM card. Is there a way i can just hide the "No SIM" words and keep the time, wifi and battery? P.S. I jailbroke it and also still have the old SIM card.
 
What me and my sister did, is we turned airplane mode one, it puts a little airplane there instead of the words...
