How do you know if your phone is spoiled by water i have windmobile?

It Will Have A White Tab Near The Battery If Its Red Your Done Or It Might Be Purple
 
My dumbass sister somehow got water in it you can see it from the corners on the screen the water the phone type is Nokia 5230 is there anyway of making sure that it does have water like any sticker in the back telling that it got water in it? Cause i'm trying to charge it and it won't start
