How do you make an mp3 on your SD card into a ringtone on a Samsung Instinct?

i cropped an mp3 that i'd like to use for a ringtone, but i can't make the phone use it as a ringtone.

You can download songs that are already on there for free.
You can also upload your own tracks and cut out the part you want.
