How do you receive emails on an AT&T, Samsung Solstice?

I recently got a Samsung Solstice and I am trying to email it some pictures. (because internet was too expensive) I tried the *number*@mms.att.net but when I get the message it says receive and when I press it it says FAILED.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
