How do you sort your DVD and CD collection?

I have a big closet with 300 legal DVD's and CD's, e.g. games, applications, movies, backups, etc.

But It's EXTREMELY HARD to find a specific DVD again.

Looking forward to your suggestions.
 
Put them in a somewhat Alphabetical order or sort them by genres or the ones you favor more (if you can). Or purchase some DVD/CD shelves and stack them there. Good luck!
 
This is worth a try. Try to get little white sticker labels. Alphabetize them by Title..example: "Annie" use letter A..
then place a number label as indicated>> "Annie" A1;
next is "Alice in Wonderland" A2..."Armigiddon" A3
and so on...Just an example.
Hope you get somewhere.
