how do you tame a sailfin pleco?

id like to be able to hand feed my pleco when he is a bit bigger, he is only about 3.5 inches maybe 4 but i havent measured him recently. ive seen videos of people hand feeding their plecos, plus if i ever decide to get him a huge tank when i get my own place i need to be able to pick him up so i can transport him. i think it would be too difficult to pick him up with a net when he is 2ft long.
