How does a child come to grasp the concept of infinity?

If a child, at birth, did not have the ability to perceive, or the cognitive ability to recognize, infinity, how is it that a child learns what infinity is, if infinity can only be expressed in terms of itself?

also, infinity isn't a number... it's more like an idea.
i read online that 1/infinity was like saying 1/tall or 1/beautiful.

They tell you the number does not end.

That's it.

I see where you are trying to go with this, but this concept is simple. It is like how do you describe the word 'describe' if you can not express it in terms of itself, etc.

This is why we have references like dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other sources. Just because you can not explain it, does not mean others can not.
 
Well this is the concept for a lot of things. Like what is warm? Warm is mildly hot. What is hot? Hot is warm. In the English language everything is defined by something else, and something else, and something else. Its the same concept for this, I may not know "what" infinity is, but I know what it is supposed to be, or what it is like.
