How does Christ's Blood pay the "price" for sin?

I don't care about the quality of Christ's blood.

What I want to know is WHY is BLOOD the price for sin?
Why did God decide that that is the payment for sin? Blood?
Let me try this again.

I do not care if it's ALWAYS been blood. Why did God decide that blood was his only way of forgiving people?
Why do you people evade the question?

Why didn't God just forgive people? It makes NO SENSE!

Why did it take Jesus blood? Why didn't he just decide to forgive? He's GOD for christsake.

It doesn't.

In Judaism, human sacrifice is an abomination to God. It's pagan. That's what a man/god Messiah human sacrifice is.

In Judaism the Messiah doesnt die for anyone's sins or for anyone's salvation.

Animal blood sacrifice was required only for unintentional sin, and even then if the person couldn't afford a bull he could bring a sheep, if he couldnt afford a sheep he could bring a goat, if he couldnt afford a goat he could bring a bird, if he couldnt afford a bird he could bring GRAIN.

Grain is not blood.

His blood payed the price by him giving up his life in the flesh. It took a sacrifice to obtain eternal life. Jesus is the only man who could do this for us. It is similar to going to the store to buy something. They will not take monopoly money for food. So, god would not take jim jones as a sacrifice for all mankind. Besides, no one can do what jesus did. And no one will ever compare to him. God the father had to give up his most precious thing, his son. Sons are very special to men.

Jesus had to give his life up for us. God decided that was the way to give humans eternal life.

The blood is the symbol of sacrifice.

It was God's choice as to what would pay for our sins. Given that He himself (in Jesus) was going to pay it, he demonstrated his love for us by nominating the highest possible price - his life, blood and suffering. That how much he values us.

Jesus lived a perfect life here on earth as a man and so He is the perfect and only sacrifice that can wipe your sins away. Ask Him into your life. Faith in Jesus is the only way to be saved.

Because the price for sin has always been blood. Adam and Eve were told that if they sinned, they would surely die. The didn't die right away, but they died a spiritual death, and later, they died a physical death. The penalty of sin -- right from the point of creation -- is death.

Throughout the history of the Jewish people, they had to sacrifice an animal to atone for their sins. The sacrifice wasn't permanent. It had to be made again and again and again.

The only acceptable payment for a human life is another life. Jesus, as fully human, is capable of paying the price for the sin in your life. As fully God, he's capable of paying the price again and again for every life. His sacrifice is permanent, not something that has to be repeated the way the Jews had to do.

God started this by the Jews, they would sacrifice a lamb, the reason why they did that was because God was showing them like the future, how it would be done, so they can understand why Jesus died.
Blood? It represents I believe sins that are washed away.

Life is in the Blood.
In sacrifices to cover sins in the old testament there had to be a sacrificial lamb. Without the shedding of the blood there is no covering of the sins.
When God sent His only begotten son Jesus to be the sacrificial Lamb who takes the sins of the world away it had been planned before the worlds were even formed. Jesus was slain before the foundation of the world.
So when His blood was shed it paid the full amount of the sins for the entire world and for sicknesses that came from the sins.
Nothing was left to chance.
That is why the Blood of Jesus is so precious and protects us from the evil one and his tactics.

The song says :

What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain

Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my pardon, this I see,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my cleansing this my plea,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain

Nothing can for sin atone,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain

This is all my hope and peace,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
This is all my righteousness,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain

Now by this I’ll overcome—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus,
Now by this I’ll reach my home—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain

Glory! Glory! This I sing—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus,
All my praise for this I bring—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain

before Jesus sin was dealt with by sacrificing animals to God. That is why he sent his one and only son to die on the cross for our sins. He was perfect and sinless and that is the reason why he paid for our sins. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but receive eternal life. Jesus' blood was essential for us to be forgiven and by the grace of God he died for us.

Blood is a symbol representing life. "The life is in the blood" Lev 17:14 Under the Jewish sacrificial system, the life of an animal (it's blood) was used to cleanse the stain of death (sin) from sacred objects, and sometimes people. This life/death connection is the key to understanding the biblical use of blood for propitiation. It was the very life force of Jesus, symbolized by his blood, that was the "price" paid to redeem us from our bondage to sin and death. The exchange was life for life-- Christ's life offered up to restore us to life.

Awesome question. God supposedly "sacrificed" his "son" (who is actually god) to "pay the price" for our sins. How much of a sacrifice was it really anyway? When jesus "died" that means god got to have his son (who is actually himself?) back in heaven with him. How is that a sacrifice? Maybe if he never got his son back ever that would be a sacrifice. But Jesus was only on earth for 30-something years. What's 30 yrs to God? And what is a few hours of pain to GOD?! LMFAO... you seriously have to smoke f*cking crack to think this sh*t makes any sense whatsoever!!

It goes all the way back to Adam and Eve, after they sinned God provided them with skins to cover themselves, as they were aware of their nakedness and were being sent out of the garden. An animal died to cover their sin...The penalty for sin is death..Jesus paid our penalty so we won't perish.

It illustrated the salvation God would provide with Jesus..

It's not literally the blood that pays the price, it's the atonement, which was not just the shedding of blood, but suffering for all sin and infirmities. He went through every pain we suffer. He had to experience our sins to pay for them. Blood is a symbol used to represent the atonement, so often you may hear a Christian say "His blood paid for my sin," but it's a simile.

Its a figure of speech particular to another time.

Its not as if x # of cc's of blood = y sins.

Its the death (blood) of Christ that is payment for all sins. (so to speak)

Why blood ?

Im not sure. I would guess, because its common to all humans and easy to equate with precious life.

It doesn't, because you are not a sinner, but born in the likeness and perfect image of thy Creator, let's not get it twisted.
