I recently had my dream interpreted (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Avj6WqyVVghBjjBJZl8B.zHsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20120226130004AA7u2cz) and the explanation made sense. However there seems some kind of mystical element to it because I cannot follow the logic. Take for example my dream of losing my teeth; it was (basically) said that "toothless" is associated with "powerless" and that dreaming I was losing my teeth signifies that I'm losing my power. That was a pretty accurate interpretation, but the thing is, I've never associated "toothless" with "powerless"; maybe that's a common association among other people, but not me - it seems like that would be a prerequisite (for ME, personally, to make that connection). So if my brain never said that powerless = toothless, then how, in the dream world, did toothless = powerless, and I had to resort to getting someone else who's never been inside my brain to decode it for me? It seems logical that I should have known the answer to my own dream seeing as how my own brain is the one who made it up based on MY OWN associations, and not associations that are common to other people. So what's the deal? is there some mystical element (like horoscopes) involved with dream interpretation, or is there some kind of table of subconscious associations that EVERYBODY makes which is consulted?
