How does T-Mobile hand deceased users on Family Plan?

My father and I are on a family plan with T-Mobile. But he passed away in January and I've been keeping up with the bill of both phones, although I only use one. The bill has become a burden so I'm trying to find a way to reduce the bill. If I were to tell T-Mobile that my father is deceased, would they simply cut off his phone and allow me to transfer to an individual plan? Or will the disconnect the entire plan? Also, my dad was the "owner" of the plan, although he made me a primary account holder as well.
