How effective are reputable sites like eharmony?

can you actually meet a good woman on there, or is it all pervs and girls looking for one nigth stands?
 
I know a few people that meet on eharmony. They have a good reputation.
 
Its very effective. Well, the one i used is called Zoosk. I met my boyfriend there and we've been dating for 8 months now. We're both in it for the long haul =) But you just have to be careful, people can be fakes. We got lucky.
 
I think most are on there for real connections (ie ones that last longer than one night). Effectiveness is tied closely to a person's willingness or ability to "settle", in my opinion.

I'm a guy and I have no interest in "settling" for anyone. Being picky meant that I only got a couple of dates while on there, and neither worked out. *shrug*
