How fix error 1611 when restoring iphone 4.?

Thank you for looking at this. I went to restore my 3 day old iphone 4, to find out that it gives me an error 1611 and displays the connect to itunes screen on the iphone. I have restarted computer, itunes, changed usb ports, put it dfu mode. Any answers would be appreiteted.

My iPhone 4 did this a couple of days ago. After 45 mins on the phone to Apple they conceded that the phone was screwed and I needed a replacement. I'm still waiting for this to arrive. Slightly irritating given that the phone's only 6 days old, and the update that caused the crash was the fix for their signal strength indicator problem! Hrmph.
