How in the heck to i set up my ipod touch to my verizon fios network?

i have a strong signal, the router tag is correct, it keeps asking for a network password, if the tech that set up the password used a generic password, what do they usually use, the mac id number or something...i need help please, step by step help, i am new to handheld gadgets...thanks in advance!
