How is fixing my USB controller accomplished?

Have already tried uninstalling it from Device Manager and then replugging it in. Controller is a Gamemon model FT2E92 without defect. Non-functional regardless of which USB port is used. Computer sometimes properly recognizes this device as it always should when it is plugged in again, but then may randomly decide it has been unplugged and then won't accept it being plugged in again.
