How is it dangerous to go meet someone youve been talking to online?

I started talking to this guy from washington online a year ago hes 21 Im 18 he asked me over before but I felt scared and wasnt sure of his intentions, but I cant stop thinking about him, I feel like hes the one for me, I wish I was with him! should I go over in the summer or is it very dangerous?

Ive seen his family on facebook they seem really nice!
 
STAY AWAY! have you ever watched TV? theirs so many sickos out there. do your self a favor and dont talk to him again.
 
well, first you should make sure he's not a fake or something. but if you do go, take a at least one if not a few companions to make sure you are safe.
 
if you do, make sure you meet at a public place. or even have him come to your town and meet you somewhere so you are not completely in new surroundings
 
Meeting someone you met online in person can be dangerous, but it doesn't have to be. People these days meet on online dating services all the time with positive results. I know many people who met their spouses online.

The basic rule is, the first couple times you meet him, make it a public thing. Go for coffee or something. Don't go to his house on the first meeting.
