We want to add a line to our Family Plan and were looking at the HTC HD2 because it has wifi. The TMobile site says:
Required data service-
A data service is required in order to access this phone’s Web functionality and features, including Internet access and e-mail.
* 2-yr. agmt., new activation, and data or messaging service of $14.98 or more req’d for rebate card.
*To qualify for the mail-in rebate card, a data or messaging add-on of $14.98 or higher must be included.
Does that mean I can add the data service when purchasing the phone, get the rebate, and then cancel the data service? Or am I locked into paying it for the whole 2 years of the contract?
