I started doing this about 2 years ago and taught my son how to do it. Just curious as to how many people are like us. Do any of you follow your diet based on whats on those labels?

oh ya.. mostly i see the labels to know what are the ingredients and the expiry date..

diet wise i see the labels for fat content, calories, preservatives used and coloring agents..

its a good habit which i advise everyone to follow..

its great that u r teaching ur child early!!

I pay most attention to the calorie, fat, salt and sugar contents, in that order.

If you want to lose weight, as most seem to, cutting calories is the only way to go. Simply eat fewer calories than the minimum you need to maintain your weight and the pounds WILL come off. Foods lower in sugar are almost always lower in calories and fats.

In my family my wife needs to avoid high salt-content foods because of high blood pressure, and I avoid excessively sugary foods to guard against diabetes and dental problems.

Nothing is 100 percent, but the nutrition labels can give you a good idea of what you're putting into your body.

yes I do read labels, if there's partially hydrogenated or hydrogenated written on it then I don't get it

If there's high fructose corn syrup then I don't eat it!
