For a research project, I need to get enough agar to fill up about 25-30 100x15 mm Petri dishes. I've never done anything with bacteria and stuff before, so I'm gonna need some help with this. The site that I'm purchasing the "agar powder" from comes in amounts of 10, 25, 50, 100, and 500.
1- How much powder will I need?
2- I'm supposed to use this powder, right?
3- I'm cultivating Bacillus cerrus bacteria. Do I need anything special for this?
4- Any other tips? Am I doing this totally and completely wrong?
(Basically, I'm cultivating this bacteria to measure the effectiveness of antibacterial wipes. In case that helps.)
