...California)? My friend got pulled over because one of her headlights got burnt out and also for not having a front license plate. She was suppose to go to court to show them that she has fixed the reason for the ticket. So she got her lights and license plate fixed, but unfortunately, she overlooked on the court date and failed to appear. All this lead the court to finalize her payments to the maximum. About 1800 bucks.

With financial struggles, she called in the GC services who collects all these payments. They let her make small installment payment monthly. Which was a relieve for her. However, she went to the DMV to apply for a California I.D (she never had one). They approved and she got the I.D. But the worry began when the DMV told her that she has an Arrest Warrant on her for the FTA. Also her drivers license was put on hold or maybe suspended. Now the question is; Does she still have to pay Bail for the arrest warrant, even though she is making the payments monthly for the ticket?

She is worried sick right now. Please let me know from your experience on how the case is usually solved. Thanks for reading (:

Bail and fines are two completely different things. Paying off the fine in installments (or even outright) doesn't affect the outstanding warrant for failure to appear. The good news is that most infraction/misdemeanor warrants do not absolutely require bail to be posted. She should contact the court where the warrant was issued and ask how she can be placed on calendar to clear the warrant. Even if they require the bail to be posted, bail is like a deposit . . . once she shows up in court and takes care of the case, she gets the money back (less a fee, if she goes through a bondsman).
